Your First Visit
What’s important for new patients to know about Reed Family Dental?
We hope each new patient feels right at home as soon as they enter our office. Our dentist and team hope that your first appointment will be just the beginning of a long relationship with us. We welcome the whole family and strive to make every member feel comfortable during every visit.
What should I bring to my appointment?
Before you arrive for your first visit with us, we request that you download and fill out the new patient forms you’ll find on our website. Please bring them with you to your appointment along with your dental insurance card and a form of identification. Filling out the paperwork in advance helps you save time during your first visit. Otherwise, we ask that you come early to fill out the forms before your appointment time.
What will my first visit be like?
Once your appointment has started, one of our friendly hygienists will perform a thorough cleaning to promote your oral health. Then, you will have the chance to meet our dentist, Dr. Allison Reed. She is always excited to meet new patients and welcome them into our office family.
Dr. Reed will take the time to learn about your dental history and talk with you about any symptoms you may be experiencing and goals you have for your oral health and appearance. Your visit will also include a thorough oral exam with X-rays, which help us gain a better picture of your oral health.
What happens next?
If your oral health is in good shape, we’ll set up an appointment for your next exam and cleaning in six months. Otherwise, we can make plans for next steps.
If any care is needed to solve a problem or help you reach a dental goal, Dr. Reed will talk to you about your options, share information and help you make the best decision. She is available for any questions you may have during your visit as well. Once your visit is complete, you’ll find our receptionist in the office, who can make appointments for your follow-up visits.
Does insurance cover my first visit?
Our office accepts many dental insurance plans from various networks. In most cases, a dental insurance plan will cover the first visit, including X-rays performed, as an exam and cleaning visit. Depending on the plan, there may be a copay.
If you do not have dental insurance or the visit is not covered, our office team can discuss your options with you. Our office accepts various forms of payment, including cash, check, debit cards or major credit cards. We also offer CareCredit financing if needed.
